This time last year I said that 2019 was the busiest year we have ever had in over 50 years! Oh boy, I could not have been so wrong.
What can one say? We have all experienced probably the worst year of our lives. My Aunt, who will be 95 this month said it has been worse than the war years in so many ways. Isolation and loneliness, lack of family and companionship, fear and confusion, mental health and financial stress and worst of all bereavement.
Looking forward to a brighter future
- The vaccine is being rolled out and the elderly and health workers should be properly protected within a few months. Then hopefully the rest of us.
- The blossoms will burst back into life in the Spring and the dark nights will shorten.
- Families and friends should be able to get back together.
- And a personal note for me; being able to go abroad with my family and suck up all that well-needed sunshine!
Three cheers to the carers of 2020!
I want to send a very big thank you to all our Daily and Live-in Carers.
They have been to the ‘back of beyond’ providing the extraordinary level of care and support to all our clients, at all times. Not one carer has ‘bailed out’ despite the enormous strain and stress Covid -19 has caused to some of them personally. There have been some panics and meltdowns, but we have managed to pick them up and dust them down, so they can continue making a difference to other people’s lives throughout this terrible year.
Also, another big thank you to my administrative team for getting us all through this. Ladies, you have all been amazing.
Please help more people remain living in their own homes!
